  • Re-equipped research vessel Alice - an appreciated addition at Kristineberg

    [23 Oct 2019] At Kristineberg Marine Research Station the research vessel Alice has been re-equipped and updated. She will be a much needed resource for monitoring, research and education.

  • New mooring buoy deployed in the Koster fjord

    [9 Oct 2019] A new mooring buoy has been deployed west of Yttre Vattenholmen in the Koster fjord. It is used by boats who uses a remotely operated underwater vehicle to film marine life on larger depths.

  • Marine field stations regain their strong brand names

    [19 Jul 2019] Marine field stations / research stations of University of Gothenburg have got new names, decided by Vice-Chancellor Ewa Wiberg. Kristineberg Marine Research Station and Tjärnö Marine Laboratory are the new names.

  • 25 projects approved from the KVA Fund 2019

    [21 Dec 2018] In the 2018 KVA Fund call to support internationalization and scientific renewal at the Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Infrastructure, 15 applications out of 45 were approved.

  • University signs supplementary agreement for vessel delivery

    [14 Nov 2018] The delivery of the university's new vessel is delayed. The university has now come to an agreement with the Nauta shipyard on the terms for delivery of the vessel.

  • 28 projects granted by the KVA Fund

    [9 Apr 2018] Out of 49 applications to the KVA Fund, 28 have been granted. Funding is given to support internationalization and scientific renewal at the Lovén Centre.

  • Pleased guests at the Lovén Centre stations

    [14 Feb 2018] Three years in a row guests were asked questions about facilities and service at the Lovén Centre. The purpose of the evaluation is to understand what students and guest researchers appreciate or do not appreciate, and to get suggestions for improvements. Guests have given high reviews during all three years.

  • Large interest in the KVA Fund

    [22 Nov 2017] To the KVA Fund ¿ funding stays at the Lovén Centre ¿ there were 49 applications for 2018.

  • AUV tests in the Koster fjord

    [22 May 2017] For five days a research team has visited the Lovén Centre Tjärnö to test an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) in the Koster fjord prior to an Arctic expedition this coming summer.

  • Tjärnö tales edition 2017

    [10 Apr 2017] This year's edition of Spring School - with 47 students from 14 countries - is up and running at the Lovén Centre Tjärnö. As a part of the course, the students blog about their projects and experiences.
