The KVA Fund

University of Gothenburg offer funding to support internationalization and scientific renewal at the Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Infrastructure (the Lovén Centre). The funds have previously been distributed by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA), but from 2015 the University of Gothenburg is handling applications, evaluation and allocation of funds.

Funds can be used to cover:

  • Sabbatical visits to the Lovén Centre for up to 12 months. The applicants must be graduate students or higher level
  • Organisation of international research school at least graduate level

Call for proposals for 2018 is now open, and closes at 4 November 2017 (last date for application 3 November 2017).

How to apply:
Applications for time to stay at the Lovén Centre are submitted in our access portal. The first step is to create a user profile where you specify who you are and contact details. This is also where you register CV as a pdf.

The second step is to create a project. The project must describe the type of research you perform and in what context you need to use the infrastructure at the Lovén Centre. The project is saved and can be used in several applications later. If you are creating an application for a course this is where you add the course description.

Once you have created a user profile and a project is the time to create an application. In the application you describe what infrastructure you would like to use as well as when you would like to use it.
